Color therapy is based on the ancient art of using color and light to treat disease.
Practitioners believe that by altering the colors that surround us, it is possible to enhance health and well-being.
The earliest forms of therapy included the use of colored gems and sunlight. There is now a wide range of treatment options available and many practitioners combine the use of colour with other complementary therapies such as aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, crystals and yoga.
There are different approaches to how a practitioner can implement color healing. A simple form is to choose the appropriate color for balancing the chakra, for instance, putting a scarf with the same color chosen on theappropriate area in order to leave the color to be absorbed by the body. There is another way commonly implemented in color therapy which is putting the light of the chosen color also directly focused on the desired area/ chakra for some time.
There are many ways of implementing simple techniques of color therapy in every day and every aspect of our lives, and one way or another simple color balancing methods can be done by most of the people through the clothes they are wearing, the decorations they choose to have and even the food they eat. However, the more professional balance must be done by a practitioner for maximum results.
It can benefit a wide range of problems including stress-related conditions such as insomnia, anxiety, asthma, behavioral disorders and depression and many more. In particular, it can help to restore health after surgery or illness. It can also aid creativity and help learning.
